In this article I share a profound revelation that I received regarding the light of God that shines through our lives. I demonstrate this by using a scientific analogy to illustrate how the light of God manifests in one’s life in seven different ways.
1. Dispersion Of Light Through A Glass Prism
When white light passes through a glass prism, it is separated into a variety of colors known as a spectrum. These colors spread outward on the opposite side of the prism, resembling the hues seen in a rainbow.
Similarly, when the light of God shines on an individual, it behaves in a comparable way. Let’s delve into this phenomenon in detail, to gain a deeper understanding of how God’s light is manifested in a person’s life.

1.1 White Light
God is light, and in Him there is no darkness (1 John 1:5). In the beginning God created light first symbolic of the fact that anything and everything is based upon himself, nothing can function well or radiate His presence outside of His light.
1.2 The Glass Prism
The prism in this analogy symbolizes an individual’s heart. The sixth beatitude from Matthew 5:8 states, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Just like a clear glass prism, a pure heart can perceive and reflect God’s light. Isn’t it fascinating that the shape of the heart is triangular, echoing this idea?
For a prism to display the full spectrum of colors, it must be clear. This represents a pure heart, cleansed by the blood of Jesus. When a prism is darkened, signifying sin, the white light is unable to create a spectrum, as sin obstructs the light of God.
1.3 The Spectrum Of Light
The spectrum of light radiates within the prism , then out of the prism. This consisting of seven colors that form the color spectrum, the colors symbolize the sevenfold Spirit of God.
Jesus Christ is the clear, blemish free prism who shined the light of God. The evidence of the light of God upon him is expressed through the sevenfold Spirit of God. These consist of power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing (Revelations 5:12). Like a clear glass prism, Jesus’ holiness, purity and righteousness allowed the light of God to manifest through his life.
When sin entered, the human heart became darkened such that mankind could no longer reflect the light of God. Therefore, to reflect the light of God, we need to be washed clean to become a blemish-free crystal prism to radiate the light of God.
2 Corinthians 4:6 reads, “For God who said, ‘Let there be light in the darkness’, has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.”
This verse implies that God’s light shines through us in our hearts and produces in us the ability see and reflect the glory of God (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Jesus in Luke 11:36 explained this phenomenon with the following words:
“If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a flood light were filling you with light.”
2. How To Manifest The Light of God
The heart is one of the critical components in manifesting God’s glory. God looks into the heart of an individual, and not the external displays that they perform.
Like a prism that points upward, our hearts too should look unto Jesus, keeping our faith in him alone. Only then will the light of God shine through us for the whole world to see his presence manifest in seven different ways.
This was demonstrated by the woman with the issue of blood, through faith, she sought Jesus and pressed through the crowd to hold onto the hem of his garment. The spirit of power, flowed onto her from Jesus and was healed, this brought awe, wonder and praise from the onlookers who heard her testimony of the healing power of Jesus (Luke 8:43-48).
3. The Seven-fold Spirt Of God
Paul prayed in Ephesians 3:19, “That you will be filled with all the fullness of God”.
Dear reader, God wants us to fully bear and radiate His precious light. When we are washed, by the blood of Jesus to become pure, this allows us to manifest light of God. The manifestation of God’s presence in in the life of Jesus is also evident in us – believers in Christ who’ve been cleansed of sin. God manifests in seven different way, these are:
Power:
- When Jesus was baptized, the Holy Spirit descended upon him. He began his ministry filled with the Holy Spirit’s power (Luke 4:14). When we believe in him, we too receive the Holy Spirit’s power which is evident of God’s presence in us (Acts 1:8).
Riches:
- God has given all things to his son Jesus including riches (John 3:35). Now that we are in Christ, we also receive the glorious riches from the Father supplying us with all that we need (Philippians 4:19).
Wisdom:
- As we receive Jesus Christ, we have received wisdom, for Christ is the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24).
Strength:
- Jesus Christ is our source of strength, through him we can do all things (Philippians 4:13).
Honor:
- The reward for humility and fear of the LORD is riches and honor and life (Proverbs 22:4).
Glory:
- When Jesus died on the cross, he was subsequently glorified to sit at the right hand of God. Likewise, when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, we receive the same glory the Father has given him (John 17:22).
Blessings:
- God has blessed us in Christ with all spiritual blessings (Ephesians 1:3).
As believers in Christ, we have been brought to a life that embodies all these 7 elements because the light of God that shines in our hearts.
As we live a life obeying God and His word, we come to experience these seven manifestations of God in and through our lives.
4. How To Know That The Light Of God Shines Through You?
The evidence of God’s light shining upon you is that people will be drawn to you because of the manifestation of the seven-fold Spirits of God.
Isaiah 60:3 reads:
All nations will come to your light, mighty kings will come to see your radiance.
All classes of people came to Jesus and followed him as because he carried the presence of God that manifested in seven ways.
Other figures like Daniel, Joseph, Solomon, and more were sought by other people because they carried the presence of God.
True believers of Christ are meant to be people that are highly sought after. The world is looking for the presence of God, and believers carry and embody His presence. It is made manifest in seven different ways. This attraction causes others to be in awe of God’s light shining upon His people, leading them to seek after Him.
5. Final Remarks
Dear reader, the presence of God in our lives is evident in seven different ways. May we always fix our gaze onto unto Jesus, like a prism pointed to the heavens. As we do so, may we shed all the sin that clouds the light of God by daily carrying our cross as we become committed in our pursuit to become like Jesus.
And finally, may we become the light of the world radiating the great Light of God to all people. This will bring paise, glory and honor to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:14-16).
